Bhutan is very cold in high areas, and a bit hot in lower areas. It can also be very scenic with the Himalayas in the background.
History:
It all started when, about the year 2000 when Bonists (an old religion) migrated to Bhutan. In the 600s, Songtsen Gampo (a Tibetian emperor) built some of the earliest Buddhist temples, starting Bhutan Buddhism. In the 700s, Padmasanbhava (an Indian saint) traveled to Bhutan and grew the religion more.
In 1616, a Tibetian named Ngawang Namgyal joined the broken country and got the name: Shabdrung. He built very big monasteries called Dzongs to help protect the people against other leaders.
Under the king Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, Bhutan banned slavery in 1958, and created a National Assembly.
